Wedings at Kilshane House
The more personal a wedding is, the more unforgettable it will be! An intimate dinner for the bridal party in the formal dining room the night before the wedding can be expanded to a formal dinner in the Conservatory for sixty! Or an informal party in the Billiard Room and the QT bar with a choice of food and drinks over a few hours as family and guests arrive can set the pace for the entire weekend.
On the wedding day, guests are greeted at the door with trays of champagne and canapés which are a speciality of the house. A jazz band under the palms, tree ferns, and banana trees in the Conservatory gets the party under way. Guests walk through the house to the Orangerie for exquisite food made to measure by our full time chefs. Three eighteen foot high French doors open onto a terrace overlooking the lake while beams of light from the setting sun play over the linen covered tables and silver candelabras. Fireworks, music, and dancing until dawn complete the picture. The next day, a light-hearted barbecue is a great opportunity to kick off your shoes and relax. Every detail is personally designed to make your wedding a unique and unforgettable event.
Civil Ceremonies
Under the watchful eyes of the resident swans, an exquisite pagoda has appeared on the simple wood deck which seems to float above the water in the lake. This is the centrepiece of the original Victorian landscape garden of trees, water, and sky. Linked to the shore by two tiny silver bridges, the pagoda is idyllic for an intimate wedding ceremony with your families and guests seated on garden chairs close by. The sound of the waterfall and the scent of pines and wild roses is a heady combination as each of you say “I do”. Once the ceremony is complete, let everyone follow you both up the avenue under a canopy of noble chestnut and oak leaves overhead just five minutes to the front door of Kilshane House where the celebration begins.
