Zetland Country House Hotel Galway, is the perfect venue for a small wedding in Connemara with close family and friends. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Connemara’s mountains and coast and away from any of the interruptions of modern life, it is warm and personal, yet easily accessible with new routes into Knock Airport & Shannon Airport both within easy driving distance.
We cater for a select number of weddings each year. Many wedding parties take over the entire Hotel for a second or third day, making the Zetland your very own private estate for your special day. Your wedding guests have the complete run of the house for the period and this allows your friends and family the opportunity and time to either catch up or get to know each other in a relaxed and informal setting in Connemara, Galway.
At Zetland Country House Hotel, we take pride in offering a very personalised service and for that reason prefer to discuss personally what your wishes are for the day rather than offer a selection of packages for you to choose from online. Remember that the house is yours for the duration; we would have no other guests so this gives us and you a lot of flexibility.
Hotel
The Zetland country house hotel has 22 guest rooms and there is plenty of other hotel and guesthouse accommodation nearby along with self-catering cottages and houses. We can cater for a maximum of 76 guests in our restaurant. Our restaurant overlooks Cashel Bay, Connemara, across the gardens and this is where we serve the wedding meal. Please view our Wedding Menus. We have a full bar licence. Our front hall may be used for a drinks reception by the fire or weather permitting drinks can be served outside. We are happy to help with organising string quartets or traditional music for this.
Church
St. James’s Church in Cashel, Co. Galway (built 1902) stands on a hill beside the sea and has breathtaking views over Cashel Bay. The church is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Church of Ireland churches can be found in either in Roundstone or Clifden.
