Coolanowle County House Weddings
Our recently renovated Barn and courtyard has been transformed into a purpose built wedding venue. The transformation was filmed by the Brennan Brothers for the show “At Your Service” in 2013.
‘The Barn’ at Coolanowle Country House specialises in small weddings up to a maximum of 120 people. It is an ideal intimate wedding venue for those couples who want exclusive use of a private rustic venue for their special day.
The barn itself can seat a maximum of 60 people. For larger weddings (up to 120 persons) we attach a marquee opening into the barn and opening out onto the pretty courtyard.(Extras costs apply re: same)
We focus on using as much of our own organic farm produce for the meal to provide a unique farm to fork experience.
The barn has been approved for civil marriage ceremonies in the past. Alternatively humanist blessings have been held on our beautiful beechwood grounds or by our lakeside setting.
For those wishing to get married in a church there are a number of pretty churches in close proximity to Coolanowle. These include the beautifully set Castletown Church of Ireland and the Pugin designed Arles Catholic Church with panoramic views of the local countryside.

WEDDING ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation throughout Coolanowle Country House, its adjoining limestone cottages and its funky log cabin can sleep up to 35 persons. Numbers over this can be accommodated at preferential rates* in the 4 star Talbot Hotel in Carlow just a 10 minute taxi drive away.
We have eight en-suite rooms in our award winning Farmhouse all with antique furnishings. We also have an adjoining two bedroomed ground floor annex/ family suite with interconnecting rooms for those with limited mobility. In addition we have two self catering cottages and a self catering log cabin to cater for all your accommodation needs. For more information on our accommodation click here
